I have a Bosch 9412G panel and I'd like to make it send messages to my
cell's voicemail pager function. The voicemail sup****ts pager mode in
this manner.
Pickup phone
Dial phone number
wait 45 seconds for ringer to time out, message, and instructions
press 5
immediately enter numeric string without
immediately hangup
I tested all this using my regular telephone on the same phone line with
a stopwatch, it works fine that way.
I programmed the panel for 5555551212DDDDDD5, obviously, with the correct
phone number. D represents 7 second pauses, 39-45 seconds is sufficient,
you can press 5 during the instructions, it doesn't mind that. There also
does not need to be a lag between pressing 5 and entering the numeric
string. The voicemail wants, but does not require you to press # at the
end of the numeric string. I tested both the 42 second rule and assertion
that you do not need a delay between 5 and the string, as well as tested
that you can hang up immediately after the string is dumped. All those
things checked out when I tested it using the phone line, the problem I
am having is that the voicemail/pager interface is not reading anything.
At first I thought maybe the leading five was getting lost so I changed
the account number to 5001 so that the leading digit would be five when
it started typing DTMF. I also tried 5555551212ccccccccccccc5 where c is
a 3 second pause for 39 seconds of pause I tested this by answering the
phone early and it seemed to be waiting patiently for that amount of time
and then it dumped the DTMF. Still, when I let it run its course, the
voicemail wasnt receiving it. I even heard it type the 5 to get the pager
access before it started typing the message out when I tested it by
answering. I recognize that using pagers with dialers are so out of
style, but I wanted to use it as a corollary to monitoring service.
Anyone here set this up before on any panel? Any thoughts on this?
thanks,
Logan
