Been there done that although probably not as daring as you make it
sound, when we were farming.
Nowadays we take things a little easier, we spend most of our weekends
driving off in our 4 x 4 and tent camping, out in the bush of the
Great Outdoors, hundreds of miles from the nearest dopey Kantian and
computer. When possible on the long weekends, our children and
grandchildren come with us, its just fantastic.
When its just my wife and I, my wife stays at camp reading and I go
off hiking prospecting, panning and sluicing for gold and hunting for
relics from the prospectors of old in the old goldfields.
We found an 1835 English coin a couple of weekends ago, we find lots
of exciting things most weekends.
Making the absolute most of this wonderful thing called life, and
being alone with nature and the god damned flies, we find helps to
mitigate the infinite duration of our sadder moments in life, that all
humans experience.
See I am human.
