That was me.  I was there a couple months ago.  I used to access the
area that produced some color via a trail behind the KMart in Dale
City.  That is conspicuously posted now.  I found access from one of
the new condo developments on the opposite side of the strewam,
roughly opposite said KMart.  There is some color downstream from
there, and I think the original dredging operations were there, but I
saw no signs.
