My brother-in-law and I are planning a trip this summer with our
teenage boys to do some gem hunting. He suggested sapphires in North
Carolina. I suggested Herkimer Diamonds. But we're really open to a
lot of options. I know, for instance, where to go find fossil shark
teeth, too.
We're located in Maryland and New Jersey. We'd probably be willing to
down into South Carolina or maybe Georgia, and up to New Hamp****re &
Vermont. But I'm really most interested in figuring out what our
options are today to do this sort of trip. I haven't done this sort of
thing since shortly after my college days 30 years ago, when my
roommate was a geology major.
Any suggestions?
