She was married to him from '81 until his death in
'96, over fifteen years. She was his "Annie". And
here are some of the goddess Annie's quotes...

My favorite? --
"Let the people who deplore scientism demonstrate
another methodology that delivers the goods the
way that science does."
That's pretty much what i believe also. Yes, i do
come down hard on science sometimes, but there
are two things about science that i don't like...
1) I don't like how scientists can be arrogant about
certain things, especially in light of how arrogance
in science has a history of being embarrassed by
new discoveries, and
2) Like Carl and Annie, i feel disgusted and helpless
by how science is often perverted to make weapons
of violence and mass destruction.
Carl Sagan believed that one possible reason for the
Fermi paradox...
....was that technical civilizations may possess a
tendency to destroy themselves. Isn't there
something we can learn from this?
Or is our destruction, our extinction, is it just an
unchangeable and foregone conclusion? What do
*you* think?
And what role can astronomy play to reverse our
tendency to destroy ourselves? (If indeed such a
tendency does exist and *can* be reversed.)
happy days and...
starry starry nights!
