I would point out that the referenced article states that "they believe" 
that warming air temperatures are causing the more rapid ice melt. They
did 
not confirm that fact. However, it doesn't take rocket scientists to 
conclude that warmer air temps will cause ice to melt more quickly than 
cooler air temps will. So, I must ask, what is their point?
